Black bear hunting in the United States?

I was wondering if there were states where you can, and people do, successfully black bear hunt in the US? If so what is the best state?Black bear hunting in the United States?
We have some black bear hunting in Michigan. Contact the DNR for information about getting the necessary permit.Black bear hunting in the United States?
All the states that have substantial forested areas have a bear season. As a norm the farther south you hunt the smaller the bear. If you google records black bears, you will find that Pennsylvania has some monster black bears, so if its going from a 250 lb. bear to a possible 800 lb. bear you need to go to Pennsylvania for bear hunting. To me that is the prime location in the lower 48 states. Good luck.
Black bear hunting is allowed in WV. We have an over population of bears. WV use to have a very strick season with a limit of one bear for that season. Over the past two years the DNR has opened an early season and increased the limit to two bears in some counties.
A number of states allow it - Maine, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Utah, etc. See the link for more detailed information about tag lotteries and rule changes either just passed or in the works.
We have black bear hunting here in Minnesota. Most of the woods bears seem to be of moderate size, and the bears that live around town seem to get larger. (Eating garbage.)
you can in pa where i live but the season is over now its at the end of november statewide.
* Pennsylvania *
Alaska would probably be the best.
