How can meat eaters be against hunting?

There are many people who eat meat yet are against hunting and to me this is extremely illogical. They'll eat a tied up animal that was killed in an enclosed place whith no chance to escape, but despise someone who gets off their *** and must actually work and think and study and use all their skills to bring meat home. Not only that, but wild meat is SO much better for you (and actually very good for you) than the farmed, imprisoned animals that are pumped full of antibiotics, hormones, and chemicals and are kiled when the animal is at its maximum fatness. THOSE are the animals people should feel sorry for. Also, wild animal populations are closely watched and hunting is regulated by biologists. No one is allowed to hunt an endangered species! And poaching is NOT hunting. Well, I'm interested to hear your responses anyway. How can meat eaters be against hunting?
I think there are a few reasons. First, is the perception that domesticated animals are, well, just cattle. They are bred for food which is their sole purpose and they would not exist if it weren't the case. In addition, the slaughter of domesticated animals may be seen as more humane than hunting since there is very little suffering on the animals part since a quick death is all but guaranteed. Wild animals, on the other hand, have a certain majestic and noble air about them that I believe is why many people sympathize for them.

Second, there is sense of unfairness in hunting since hunters get to use guns and devices to aid them in their activities.

Third, there may be a paranoia associated with guns in our society which stigmatizes hunting, making the activity not only inhumane towards the animal, but creating a sub-culture which is seen as barbaric and inherently unsafe for society. How can meat eaters be against hunting?
I'm eating a whopper at the moment, just so you know.

If it is necessary for you to feed your family - shoot away. I really don't mind. Just make sure you nail the critter on the first shot and it's a clean kill. I HATE 'deer wounding season'. Other people call it 'bow season'. Gun season comes later and they finally finish off all the poor critters that have been wandering around with arrows sticking out of them for the last month.

I personally don't eat game meat because it bothers me on many levels. I also don't consider Chronic Wasting Disease a potential 'good time'. I do my hunting in the aisles of gourmet grocers, thanks. The sense of accomplishment one feels when finally bagging the wiley and elusive aged porterhouse is a heady one indeed! And it thought it was safe nestled in that syrofoam tray and well hidden under its foodservice grade saran wrap...

Because the meat we eat is killed in a way in which it feels no pain but when hunting the animal is subjected to a bucket load of pain and it's probably completely stressed out etc from having to run away... for it's life.
That meant they will eat what is already killed, but will not kill in order to feed?

People always worry of uncontrol hunting, they would not know how much they take. As for poaching, you get to supply what you take out.
yes meat eaters can be against hunting.

i am like a total carnavor and i hate hunting.

but my veiws are if they are already dead why let them go to waste. i mean u dont want those poor animals to have died for nothing.
I'm not against hunting per sae, but growing up I knew a lot of people that went out with semi-automatic weapons, which I think takes away from the ';sportsmanship'; of it, and they would not take the animal home, they would leave it there, which defeats the purpose of ';bringing meat home';. I'm not saying all hunters are like this. I'm all for hunting to feed your family and keep down the animal population, but this unfairly stalking and killing animals for no reason at all except bragging rights has got to go.
Beats me!

I can tell you one thing though----people against deer-hunting have never totaled out a car by hitting one when the deer population is huge!! They've also never seen a herd suffering CWD.
One of lifes many unponderables. Why do vegetarians wear leather shoes. Why do athiests say, Oh My God? Why do Baptist hate Jews and love Jesus? Why do environmentalists not eat tuna because the dolphins get trapped there. Well, so what? So do the Tuna. Why do Kamikazee pilots wear safety helmets?
they just eat not kill,i mean its easy to eat meat but what about killing a live animal those are 2 diffrent things
I guess in their eye's slaughter house's are more humane then a bullet.

A bullet = a usually quick death.

Slaughter house = injections, force feedings, abuse, hanging from hook's , throats slit, head spikes etc.

I guess the same arguements goes to ';controlled kills'; to handle skyrocketing Deer populations. These groups are against the hunts, but yet think its better for deer to starve to death and die for no reason, nor benefit due to these groups personal agenda's.
good one...

On people who support gun control

'; If you consider the Constitution less relevant, if you ignore or distort the Second Amendment, if you conspire to make lawful firearms less accessible to lawful citizens, if you infiltrate school boards and churches and legislatures and foundations to advance an anti-freedom agenda of any kind -- the fact that you were born on American soil won't mask the fact that you're an enemy of freedom and a political terrorist.';
