I have a feeder setup do you suggest hunting the feeder or do you hunt the trails they use to come to the feed?

I have a feeder setup about 100 yards off a trail the deer use to cross my property. There are three trails that cross there actually. Where do you suggest hunting? In between the bedding area and the feeder or hunt where I can shoot them on the feeder?I have a feeder setup do you suggest hunting the feeder or do you hunt the trails they use to come to the feed?
Hunt the feeder. There may be 6 trails that go to the feeder, and you may be hunting the wrong trail. But all of them will lead to the feeder. The odds are, you will not kill the trophy buck while hunting the feeder. But it makes little difference, because the odds are, you will not kill a trophy buck anyway. Most deer killed at feeders are does and the younger bucks.Kill a couple, get your meat, and then start hunting away from the feeder, if horns matter to you.I have a feeder setup do you suggest hunting the feeder or do you hunt the trails they use to come to the feed?
I assume that you hunt in an area where it is legal to bait deer. Not all places allow it. If it is legal where you hunt, I'd hunt the feeder. Just place your stand or blind well off any trails but within a clear shot of the feeder. The deer may approach from a trail that you are not hunting if you hunt the trails. Doing so, assumes that you know exactly which trail that big buck will come down. Nope, hunt the feeder.

If by some chance, you haven't checked the laws to be sure that baiting is okay, do so before hunting near a feeder or on a trail leading to or from a feeder. The fines tend to be pretty stiff if you are caught.
It really depends what your goal is. If you are in it just for the meat then near the feeder is best. Most deer will come in down wind from it so keep that in mind. I personnally hunt for the meat and antlers so i prefer the trails. I use feeders but normally only set up near them when I just want to see where the deer are traveling and when. Know the laws for your state though. In Florida unlike stated in an earlier response by someone else. It is legal to hunt deer over feeders. It is illegal to hunt Turkey within 100 yds of a feeder though. Where I hunt in Tenn. It is illegal to bait. Hope this helps.
I always hunt my feeder. At first (pre-rut) you won't see many bucks feeding off it because they will come out really late but does are kind of dumb so as the rut kicks in they will feed right of the feeder with you over it and the bucks always follow the does during the rut. It depends on what time of the season. Pre-rut not that effective rut very effective. Hope this helps!
it depends on the layout mostley i would stay about60 yards away from the feeder so you can ambush them on the way plus you wont be too close to spook them coming and going from your stand but you should be able to see whats feeding there and where they are traveling and that will tell you where to set up but if you have good land try to be picky it will be worth it in the long run anyway goo killing
off the trails, if you kill at a feeder they may move and not come back, if you shoot em off a trail they may just choose another one and contenue to use the feeder. though, using a feeder is often called baiting and thats not only illegal, it also just ain't right.
Try both.* however if you hunt the trails you may get a larger Buck because he may not get to the feeder until after dark.* You can cut him off and prevent this from happening.* Older smarter bucks will hang back until after dark.*
I would suggest hunting the trails surrounding the feeder. I am not sure where you are located, but here in Florida, you must be 100 yards away from a feeder when hunting.
I always hunt the trails.Usually the trophy bucks aren't the first deer to lead the herd so wait awhile and get a good one.
