Are the right-wing Christian fundies concerned that Obama will be stricter on gun-control and hunting ?

Do you think that Obama will be stricter on these issues, and will the fundies be concerned about it?

I also never understood why some Christian fundies are so pro-gun ownership and why they like to hunt? Are these really good Christian practices?

Would Jesus have carried a gun and shot animals for fun? One can still understand if you hunt for food thoughAre the right-wing Christian fundies concerned that Obama will be stricter on gun-control and hunting ?
Your assumption is not true. I'm a fundamentalist and I don't even own a gun.

Are you one of those people that call the midwest Flyover country? If so, that answers you close minded assumptions. Are the right-wing Christian fundies concerned that Obama will be stricter on gun-control and hunting ?
As a normal part of the life of Christ, he would have killed and eaten many many animals. The practices of his time persist in the Middle East today. In example, today they are celebrating the reopening of a bridge in Baghdad. As part of the ceremony, eleven goats were slaughtered on the bridge. Christ most likely hunted as a boy, there is nothing in the bible that would say otherwise.

God gave man dominion over the world, this is clear in the bible. I do not recall any passage that forbids or even refers to hunting in a bad light. Yes is is Christian to hunt. What is against the bible is to take a position that is false. We all kill to live, and eat what we kill. Some of us do the animal portion of that directly, others hire people to do that for us. After all, the big mac is made out of a cow. Just think about how many billion creatures you are killing when you eat a container of yogurt.
I am Canadian, for one, but it definitely concerns me that he wants to be strict on gun control.

That has absolutely nothing to do with my religion. There's nothing about the right to bear arms in the Bible! LOL But I strongly disagree with a government seeking to disarm people. The only ones left with guns will be the criminals - and the power-hungry government, from which we will be unable to defend ourselves. That's why the founding fathers gave Americans the right to bear arms, you know - to protect yourselves from being abused by your government.
I think that Jesus definitely would have hunted animals for food (after all, fishing IS a form of hunting). But, to do it for sport or for the fun of killing something, I cannot see Jesus doing that.

I think that Obama will be stricter. Does a homeowner really need an assault rifle for protection?
Many I know need to hunt so they can eat. It is not always about target shooting, or as some think, killing for fun. No one I know kills for fun.

Believe me, if guns are removed, people will find some other way to obtain their dinner.

there are alot of people that hunt and are not Christian...

and as a Christian i think hunting is dumb, unfair and not needed.

-Christian
Being stricter on gun-control is the least of my worries concerning Obama....
Most of the hunters I know aren't Christians. Christians, like most Americans, still support gun rights though.
I'm an atheist, and I'm concerned about that. I don't hunt. I'm just into the whole freedom thing.
Who cares

Why not, as long as we don't hunt people.

No maybe not, but then again, he wasn't here to have fun.
Im not christian at ALL but yeah I do have some concern that I will lose my gun rights.
If he is, that means less witch hunts... No fun for the Fundies. lolz
You live in the city, don't ya? some of us country boys require a weapon for survival.
It's not really legal to ';hunt for fun';. You can't just leave an animal corpse lying around. You either butcher it yourself, take it to the local butcher to have it done for you, or you donate it as food for others. The only ';hunting'; that is not directly for food is the removal of pests on a farm. It is often not safe or reasonable to poison them as people in more populated areas might do for pest control. Pests that destroy crops or spread disease are often shot.

In my area, all the animals born during the mild months will not survive come winter. The more there are, the more will be competing for the food. If they are thinned out by hunting, the remaining animals will have enough food to survive the winter. The DNR determines every year how many animals there are in each zone and how many animals that zone can accomodate through the winter. Using that information, they determine how many licenses can be sold. This also helps prevent car accidents caused by deer. Another factor is that people tend to drive out or kill predators where they live. This is to protect people. An abundance of prey will attract such predators. In my area these predators include cougars and coyotes.

Did Jesus not feed people fish? Aren't those animals that were killed for our use? Just because we can go to the grocery store and buy a piece of meat all packaged up nice for us, doesn't mean we should have to. Besides, isn't it just a little cowardly to have someone else kill and butcher an animal for you and wrap it up so you don't have to deal with it and then denounce hunting? If you are at all against people killing animals for food, wouldn't it work well to stop selling it stores and make everyone hunt for it? There would be a lot more vegetarians if people had to do it themselves.
