What is the best kind of dog for hunting?

(deer, hogs, rabbit ect.) i thought lab (black) but i am not sure when i go hunting i dont use a dog but i love dogs so i want to get a hunting one someday to help me follow the blood trails! thanks in advance! What is the best kind of dog for hunting?
I have a black lab that I use for retrieving waterfowl. For rabbits I would say use a beagle. There is a breed that is used for finding deer after they're shot but I can't remember what it's called. It kind of looked like a small chesapeake bay retriever. What is the best kind of dog for hunting?
Labs were bred for retrieving ducks after you've shot them, so they aren't the best choice for other types of hunting. Read the breed standards for the dogs you're interested in to see what their original purpose was. That will help you narrow it down. When you do buy one, look for a good breeder that specifically breeds for hunting ability.
my dad used to train labs to hunt.

They did the trick just fine.

A friend of mine has a black and tan coonhound who is doing great with her hunting training.

Another person i know has two weimaraners who are also doing great in their hunting exercises.. i guess all three would probably be a good choice.

Do lots of reserach and find out which one is the best because i really have no clue.. just going on that i've seen.
well why don't you cut yourself and let a pack of dogs chase your blood scent and see how YOU LIKE being hunted. the first one to bring you down is the winner. what? that's brutal and mean? oh, i'm sorry. i'll let you return to your nice and kind and loving world of ending lives.

have a good time!

feel free to report me for telling the truth!
Beagles were used as hunting dogs (usually for small animals like rabbits), and because they have a very keen sense of smell, I would say a beagle would probably make a good hunting dog. That is...if you just want the dog to follow the trail; not actually kill the animal....
i went training in summer with my aunt and uncle, they have 2 black labs, good dogs, girls only, boys aren't very good at it, oddly. if you get both genders they will romp each other, when you think there hunting, anless there gay, which my aunts are..........
Hound dogs are good for tracking animals such as racoons but if you want a really smart dog that will acctually go and get the game for you then a Black lab is probably the best you can get.
Beagles are best for rabbit, Deer and hogs you would want a hound, black and tans are great dogs, also for raccoon and squirrels. Labs are more of a retriever type for ducks.
There are different Breeds depending on what you are pursuing, and Hunting.* Rabbits= Beagles, Ducks %26amp; Geese= Labrador Retriever, these are just two (2*) examples.*
You dont use a dog to hunt deer or hogs... they scare them away with scent and sound. any hound dog will work for rabbits, if your just using them for tracking after keep to any hounds, beagles bassets ect
labs make better family dogs then hunting these days. hounds are your best bet, pointers are excellent too. look into them and find out which breed of hounds is right for you

Im not really sure, but i have heard that terriers and beagles make good hunting dogs! Look into that, hope it helps (:
although I think its wrong I cant stop you so labrador retriever
