Which is more Ethical Milking Cow's and killing them all day or hunting Deer in there natural environment?

Using the deer meat for food, using the skin for rug's, and using the deer head as a trophy who was able to live a free life an roam as a animal.

Or milking cows all day long in a small area that doesn't let it move around cutting off a cows head and throwing in a dumpster, throwing away the skin and torturing the cow's all day long.Which is more Ethical Milking Cow's and killing them all day or hunting Deer in there natural environment?
They're both fine with me. We need hunting as a way to control the population of the animals. Feral hogs and deer could really destroy an ecosystem if they're allowed to multiply without control.Which is more Ethical Milking Cow's and killing them all day or hunting Deer in there natural environment?
The Indians did it the first way and lived well w/in their means and nature, that was ethical. We came along wanting it both ways and to live outside nature with an artificially high population that can't live w/out agriculture and intensive farming. We have turned hunting into a sport which isn't ethical because it is unnecessary and we've turned farming into an industry which is unethical. Most likely micro organisms will take care of us for our 'sins' if not our punishment will be standing shoulder to shoulder and asshole deep in nature's end product.
I think both are appalling. If people who eat meat would just go to a slaughter house and watch how they are handled and butchered I believe alot of people would either stop eating or rally for a more humane way of slaughter.

Those that do the slaughtering have to be pretty cold hearted but it makes me wonder especially when someone raises one or two and they get close to them if they really knew what happened to them after they were sold at market.

I feel the same about people who turn animals into animal control. I don't like healthy animals being put down because we have no more room in our lives for them.

I know you were probably looking for justification to hunting deer, sorry.
The deer. It gets to 'be a deer' before it's death. Cows do not get to live a cow life...they get very very sick when they eat corn...they should eat grass as that is their natural diet. But, we feed them corn, which in turn requires antibiotics to keep infection at bay. They live in their own poop on disgusting feed lots. That is not how cows live like cows. The deer gets to live a deer life - it gets to be a deer. Far more ethical.
Unless people are ready to produce their own food in a subsistence farming mode of living then people are gonna have to get accustomed to the practices of mass farm production.

Hunting is now necessary to maintain herd health in the cervadae family because of the human population encroachment on their environment. Imagine that.

What? Don't you know happy cows make happy cheese? I see cows almost every day, out there in the open fields eating grass and laying around under the trees. Cow skin is called leather after some treatment and there are these other places called rendering plants, nothing is wasted.

You eat deer all you want and have their head hanging around all you want. I'll drink milk and eat steak if it's all the same to you.
Neither is very ethical. Hunting deer is fine, because there are so many of them. But most hunters just kill the animal for the sake of killing it. At least people use the milk, the hide and the meat from the cow.

You should only eat meat and drink milk from free range, grass fed cows.
Of course hunting deer in their natural environment has been done forever. But chasing them down in a truck or scaring the crap out of them while the 'hunter' is in a helicopter until they are so exhausted they can't run anymore is about as unethical as it gets.
Neither is unethical.

But people are so removed from the processing of their own food that they can't envision what takes place for them to have those steaks or hamburgers that are on their plates. Or eggs for that matter.
What is the difference? Once it's dead, it's dead. The deer does get to move around in a larger area. But when did we start killing milk cows?
Both are acceptable, they are animals. We have enough problems making sure people are cared for.
The quest is survival; and maybe renewal of resources! Respect for nature and global society!
Neither is ethical if you have other options.
Cowhide doesn't get thrown away. Have you ever heard of leather? Do you know where it comes from?
IMHO neither. But millions of people eat moo-moos.
The only part of the cow that isn't used is the MOO.
Okay, I'll eat human meat then and be with cows in bed.

Can I buy human milk at Winco?
i don't know about ethical, but both sound tasty!
You obviously don't live on a dairy farm. The cows are treated better and fed better than many humans. Cows produce milk based on their state of health and contentment. A nervous or unhappy cow will hold her milk which can then cause an infection in the udder. Cows are babied for their entire lives. Larger dairy farms even play music for the ladies because it calms and relaxes them while loafing in what is called the loafing barn (for obvious reasons) These loafing barns are airy, air cooled on hot days and warmed on cold days. They are bedded with about a foot of fresh straw daily. During the spring, summer and fall in colder climates, the cows are also put out on a pasture to eat green grass and laze in the sunshine. They become extremely uncomfortable if their milk is not extracted on a regular schedule. The milking takes place in a milking parlor, which is a mostly stainless steel raised platform that allows those attaching the suction tubes to have full access to clean and disinfect the udders and check for any health problems. The milking time takes approximately ten to twelve minutes for the average cow and then she is turned back outdoors or into the loafing barn for another twelve hours or so until the next milking is due. They are not treated cruelly and when the time comes when they are very old or sick, yes they are sent to slaughter to become the hamburger on your table. At normally good slaughter houses, the animals are stunned before being killed so feel no pain. (Not by the electrical impulse kind of stunning) Although I have seen some examples of cruel or bad handling of these animals on TV, I am familiar with the process and know that most places are never deliberately cruel. On smaller dairy farms, the cows become almost pets. They are given names and actually become very special to their owner. More than once, I've seen a normally tough dairyman with tears in his eyes when one of his ';girls'; has to go down the road or dies.

Deer on the other hand have a rouigh time of it in the wild. They are often hungry and suffer greatly in our part of the country during frigid temps and winter storms. Although I hate the idea of killing suvh beautiful creatures, I also recognized the fact that if a population outgrows its food supply they will get weak and often die of starvation. I would rather see the hunters humanely keep the population down providing they actually make use of the meat and not do it just for the sake of killing something.
Dairy cows are not raised for their meat, they are raised for their milk. A cow's utter must be expressed.

btw - if you have ever owned a leather jacket, shoes or wallet...most likely it came from a cow that was killed for it's meat. That is specifically what these cows are bred for. It's not like we aren't replacing the ones that are used. Do you, by any chance have a deer farm in which you breed deer to continue the generations in order to keep they supply going? Nope, didn't think so. Just snatch them out of their natural habitat and call beef-eaters inhumane. Duh.
