What is a good rifle for varmint hunting/target shooting?

Im looking for a good rifle for varmint hunting and target shooting. I want it to be a bolt action in .223 caliber and have a detachable magazine. any ideas? What is a good rifle for varmint hunting/target shooting?
Hmmmmm....... A detachable box magazine huh?.... All I can think of is the CZ model 527 Carbine... It is a bolt action with a box magazine... I have one of these and its a very decent rifle... Mine is chambered in the 7.62X39MM cartridge but it is available for .223.... Take a look!....

The best for that would probably be a .223. Its heavy enough to take down the coyotes but for the squirrels a .17 or .22 would be perfect. If your not looking to eat any of them but your trying to rid your land of the nuisance animals then go for a .223. Its a ar-15 caliber and pretty good gun.
Have a look at Winchester's model 70 bolt action rifle. I've owned 2 of them, a 300 winch mag, and a 25-06, which were both finely accurate and easy to shoot. The factory triggers are also very good, and adjustable.
The remington 700 tactical is what you need for varmint hunting: http://www.remington.com/products/firear鈥?/a>

i have a .17 caliber for hunting varmints, i never shot a coyote or ne thing yet but it is a nice gun, becuz i got it for free and it shoots relly nice
.243 for coyotes and 17hmr for close coyotes and smaller varmints .22 for target shooting cheap ammo = )
Your best choice for your intended purpose is to buy a 222, or 22-250 Caliber Rifle.* Remington or Savage Brand.*
Savage .17HMR with Accutrigger. Super accurate. May be too small at long range for a coyote though.....squirrles should beware!!!! SNAP!SNAP!SNAP! all day long......
Look at dpms panther arms. They make good ar-15 style rifles. In answer to the .300 win mag proposition, what kind of varmints do you hunt? Bears?
howa m1500 scope combo

good package, comes with a free factory mounted scope that's worth about 200 bucks.

the combo is about $690.
